BOMA Members Stay Active in the Real Estate Industry

Reviews and determines the direction for legislative activities on the National, State, and Local level. Actively monitors issues effecting BOMA members and creates grass roots campaigns to address these issues.

Responsible for the annual awards ceremony to highlight the TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) and BOCA (BOMA Orlando Classic Awards) awards. Duties include securing sponsors, planning the event, and promoting the event to members.

Responsible for the recruitment and retention of members. Members serve as “hosts” for new and/or prospective members at functions. and actively follows up with members at renewal time.

To promote, educate and effectively engage members in the green initiative and energy conservatoin. To ensure that members have access to the resources needed to meet the 7-Point Challenge.

To enhance the level of professional knowledge available to members through the sponsorship of educational courses of relevance to the Association’s membership. To encourage participation in the programs of the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) for attaining professional certification.

The mission of the Leadership Committee is to: Work with the BOMA Orlando Nominating Committee to identify potential candidates within the membership, both principal and allied, who are willing to work in committees as leaders while training to become the next Board of Director or Officer for BOMA Orlando. The purpose is to make sure BOMA Orlando has a pipeline of future talent, “The Best and the Brightest” committed to making BOMA Orlando the best local in BOMA International. The Leadership Committee will accomplish this through providing recruiting and training sessions throughout the year by utilizing our numerous past leaders as teachers and mentors, with dialog from the Executive Committee and Board of Director’s on the best strategy for providing future leaders the opportunity for growth in BOMA Orlando

Informs membership on issues affecting our industry by providing safety programs and information on the website. Shared between Safety and Programs Committee

Responsible for budgeting, planning, and promoting an annual golf tournament held in the fall.

Plans, coordinates, and facilitates approximately four social networking events per year. Promotes the benefits of networking. Accomplished: Vegas Night and Wing Fling

Hosts educational breakfasts for engineers. Provides networking within the membership with engineers to have knowledgeable members to speak on the industry.
