The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International brings together a powerful network of commercial real estate professionals from around the globe at its annual three-day conference and tradeshow. Building owners/investors, property managers, facility managers, asset managers, leasing agents, brokers, developers, engineers and architects from hundreds of companies attend annually.
The 2010 BOMA International Conference & The Every Building Show® will be held June 27–29 in Long Beach, CA, the second largest city in Los Angeles County. Los Angeles County is the most populous county in the United States and home to vast amounts of commercial real estate of all types and some of the most innovative building design, development and management practices in the world.
This year’s conference offers more than 40 education sessions organized around five value-driven education tracks focused on achieving success in a down economy. Each education session is led by a thought leader – sought-after industry practitioners who are recognized subject-matter experts. All programs qualify for RPA, FMA, SMA, SMT, CPM, ARM and SIOR renewal and CPD credits. Some programs qualify for continuing education credits required by many U.S. states and Canada for the renewal of real estate licenses. BOMA International is an active participant in USGBC’s Education Provider Program (EPP). Continuing education credits toward LEED Professional Credentialing Maintenance may be obtained by attending 75-minute sessions in the Assessing Operational Efficiencies & Savings track.
Highlighting this year’s conference are the general session headliners. Noted economist, author, TV and movie actor, and university professor, Ben Stein will share his insights on the economy at the Monday General Session. The Tuesday General Session – Real Estate’s New Normal – features a panel of industry experts who will take an in-depth look at what has become the “new normal” in today’s volatile real estate market.
