June 2021 Luncheon - How to Avoid Moisture Problems In Buildings

It's not all about mold, instead, the program addresses what causes a potential problem in the first place.  Mold growth is a symptom of a moisture problem. Basic building sciences are explained with a focus on the aspects that no one addresses which are construction, design, and maintenance. This is the other half of the equation which needs to be better understood by Facility Managers responsible for buildings and facilities of all types.

Three Key Points of the Program:

  1. Moisture intrusion is what usually causes a mold problem in the built environment.

  1. What changed over time leading to more problems with moisture and sustainability.

  1. Where to look and what can be done to avoid having a moisture problem.

Gary Lamphier is certified by NACE International (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) and is a Certified Indoor Environmentalist by the Indoor Air Quality Association
