Job Description Summary

Emerson International is seeking to hire a full-time Commercial Property Accountant. Applicants for this position shall be self-motivated individuals with a high degree of initiative and professionalism with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Handle full-cycle accounting for commercial office portfolio
• Provide accurate and timely financial information as required by management
• Monthly bank reconciliations including follow up and correction of outstanding items
• Monitor, review and approve accounts payable invoices for accuracy
• Supply tenant statements monthly and misc. tenant correspondence
• Reconciliation and understanding of all balance sheet accounts
• Utilize budgets to analyze variances monthly
• Conduct monthly close procedures and ensure deadlines are met
• Prepare reconciliation and journal entry for the monthly credit card statement by the specified due date monthly
• Monitor fixed asset purchases to ensure timely capitalization and depreciation of assets
• Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly financial reports.
• Back-up for the AP Clerk
• Prepare schedules for Audits
• Assist with annual budget preparation
• Work on special projects and additional support functions as needed
• Demonstrate flexibility while operating in a highly professional manner
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required
• Experience with accounting systems and software, Yardi Voyager preferred
• Minimum 2 – 4 years previous accounting experience; commercial/retail property accounting preferred
• Strong financial and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written skills

• Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities
• Ability to allocate one’s time effectively, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Highly motivated, quick learner and positive attitude
• Detail oriented with the willingness to learn
