Senior Property Accountant
Scope of Responsibilities
Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, the Senior Property Accountant is responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and to ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. Duties also include financial analytics pertaining to commercial property transactions including commercial leases by delivering Raving Fans customer service to internal and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Monthly financial statement preparation on cash and accrual basis
Review general ledgers for accuracy
Reconciliation of tenant pass through expenses including CAM, insurance, and real estate tax
Daily bank reconciliation and corporate cash control
Monthly Consolidations of accounting books with corporate accounting
Review and approve electronic deposit captures
Prepare Florida sales tax returns and act as company liaison for sales tax audits
Frequent review of accounts receivable schedules and tracking of delinquent accounts
Perform tasks such as tenant cost ratio analysis, CAM reconciliations, budgeting and lease analysis
Budget preparation and entry
Work closely with property managers and their teams to maintain accurate tenant ledgers
Maintain accounting schedules including management fee income, security deposit ledgers, marketing charge allocation, loan amortization, real estate tax, insurance allocation and other schedules
Work closely with corporate Controller during month end process and during annual review of insurance allocations
Analyze and prepare financial reports for executive team and Property Management team
Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Manage Property Accountants and any other departmental staff including work assignments, performance measurements and standards, interview, hire and train team members
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
CPA; or minimum of five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Real estate (commercial or residential) experience preferred; joint venture experience preferred
Experience with MRI Software preferred
Applicant must have strong working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel (knowledge of advanced Excel formulas including nested functions, chart preparation), and Outlook as well as excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and manage high volumes of work
Applicant is required to have a valid Florida driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to company standards.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Strong communication skills. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from CPM Department Managers, Accounting Department Managers and tenants. English is required for oral and written communications.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret line and bar graphs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock when working with or near office equipment and/or on computer. This position at times may be exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
