October 12th-14th Design, Operation, Maintenance of Building Systems I (applies to RPA, FMA, PAC and FMC) This class will be held virtually.

Education for those who manage real estate assets. In this program, you will learn all aspects of operating a commercial building and maximizing a building’s net income while minimizing risk.

Components of this program include the design, operation, and maintenance of an office building. You will become fully versed in budgeting and accounting for commercial real estate, risk management, and best practices in bidding. This program also covers reviewing and selecting contract providers, marketing and leasing the building, and the operations of the asset from an owner’s perspective through a comprehensive asset management component.

An RPA brings a full understanding of all aspects of property management to an employer in the commercial real estate industry or to a building owner. The overall goal is to enhance the value of the asset through proper and strategic decision making.

Experience Requirement:  

Before you receive your RPA® Designation, you are required to demonstrate three years of verifiable property management experience. The criteria are outlined in the RPA® Designation Experience Form. This form may be submitted at any time following enrollment.

The Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems, Part I with Greg Pesce

The Design, Operation, and Maintenance of Building Systems, Part I provides information property and facilities managers will need to manage the ongoing operation and maintenance of building systems and to maximize building efficiency and cost-effectiveness. In this course, you will learn about building design and construction, project delivery, construction materials, and building systems, including HVAC, roofing, and plumbing systems, as well as ceilings, flooring, and interior walls.

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Implement maintenance best practices for building systems to achieve efficiencies and cost savings
  • Support maintenance of building structural components in the design and construction of facilities by selecting and recommending the appropriate materials
  • Describe best practices for the design, operation, and maintenance of HVAC and plumbing systems
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the systems required for ensuring the preservation of a building’s structural integrity

All reservations for the class to guarantee a book for the first day of class is September 25th
 
PLEASE READ -Registration/Cancellations must be received 15 business days prior to the class start date. No verbal or voicemail requests must be in writing.  No refunds will be issued within 14 business days of the class start date.  The textbook must be returned unopened to BOMA Orlando in all cases where a student cancels registration.  If the textbook is opened, you will be invoiced $250 as we are unable to return opened books.  You will receive an email confirming that we have received your request to cancel.
