Sustainability Iron Bridge Water Reclamation Tour
The Sustainability Team has set up an educational event for our members to tour the Iron Bridge Water Reclamation Facility in Orlando, FL.
The Iron Bridge Water Pollution Control Facility is designed to service about 400,000 people in the Cities of Orlando, Winter Park, Maitland, and Casselberry, and unincorporated portions of Orange and Seminole Counties. This volume of flow is equal to about 727,300 55 gallon drums. The facility was built to help protect the Central Florida environment, mainly the local surface waterway, Little Econlockhatchee River.
We will start the day with 20-30 minutes of instructional educational and a brief overview of the treatment process alongside the facility's education display. This will walk you through the entire plant process from toilet to reclaim water.
Following that, we will take a 60-minute outside tour of the facility. The total time for the tour is about an hour and a half.
Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes.
Reservations must be made by noon, Monday October 11.
