Micah Loyd, a resident of Titusville, Florida, was elected from District 2 for a term beginning November 2016. Mr. Loyd is a Certified General Contractor and second-generation business owner of Loyd Contracting, Inc, who also serves on the North Brevard Economic Development Zone Board. Mr. Loyd attended the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
Bill is a 20-year veteran of marine and heavy civil project implementation with a breadth of experience in deep-water port cruise and cargo operations. He joined the Canaveral Port Authority in April 2015 and is presently serving as Vice President, Engineering Construction & Facilities. His current role focuses on strategic planning and management of the Port's engineering, construction and facilities maintenance functions. Past career assignments have included construction management and inspection of large marine, civil and industrial projects including cruise terminal new builds and expansions; cargo terminal development (container, bulk and liquid bulk); feasibility studies and strategic planning initiatives; capital budget development and inter-agency development initiatives. In addition, Bill has experience in the design and environmental permitting of civil engineering projects including upland dredge material management, dredging of inland waterways and commercial land-development. Bill originally hails from a small mid-western community and earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas in ’97. He is a certified PADI advanced open water, nitrox and rescue diver and currently lives in Satellite Beach, FL.
